Manufacturers and/or brands wishing to register their products with EPEAT must select a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB). Conformity assessment bodies providing third-party verification services are experienced testing and certification organizations that must comply with ISO/IEC 17020 Conformity assessment – Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspections or ISO/IEC 17065 Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes, and services. The EPEAT environmental label ensures the credibility of products registered with EPEAT through an ongoing monitoring process known as Continuous Monitoring. Continuous monitoring activities occur throughout the year, verifying the ability of participating manufacturers to regularly demonstrate compliance with EPEAT criteria. All products registered with EPEAT in all product categories and all participating manufacturers are subject to continuous monitoring.
